Graphic Design Intern
Summary: The purpose of these internships is to give a student a unique opportunity to help in the day to day operations of eLayaway, while earning college credit. What we are looking for are dedicated, hard-working individuals who are interested in utilizing some of their own design skills as well as learning new skills thru hands-on experience.
These internships will last for 2 or more semesters and must be done through your student advisor for college credit. We will try and be flexible with the schedule but work must be done onsite and during office business hours.
General Description: The Graphic Design intern will assist and collaborate with the Creative Director, design team and sales/marketing teams to successfully execute the production and design of a range of products, collateral and campaigns. Designer is responsible for brainstorming and mocking up new and creative design ideas, sales/client campaigns. The individual will have to adjust designs in a timely manner to fit the organizations needs or taste.
Technology Requirements:
Proficient with:
- Photoshop CS3
- Illustrator CS3
- In-Design CS3
- Comfortable writing standards-compliant HTML/CSS a plus but not required.
Scope Data/Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Work schedules include days, evenings, weekends and holidays and may require overtime. May require prolonged periods of sitting.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination and design of a range of projects; including PowerPoint presentations, direct mail, print advertising, client e-newsletter, and much more.
- Responsible to effectively & creatively present design ideas to a wide range of audiences. (Taking our bands and merging it with a vast array of clients from Fortune 500 companies to Small Business Clients)
- Ability to handle a fast paced environment, multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet/adjust to changing priorities/deadlines.
- Must be able to follow direction and adhere to brand and style guide.
- Must be an oganized, self starter, detail oriented, able to take initiative and ownership of assigned work projects.
- Ability to trouble-shoot and tackle design, computer, and other hardware issues.
