Stores with Layaway - Best online and onsite stores with layaway programs

Carol Hiliker | examiner.com | Tuesday January 15, 2010

Many New Years resolutions are revolved around saving money and boosting credit. An old, but new program is taking shape again, Layaway. In case you are looking at the screen going, "um layway??". It is an age-old practice of reserving a product, paying for it gradually, and once paid off, voila, the product is yours.

Layaway is a great way to save for things you might desire, (like that HDTV) or need (like a new mattress). Keeping up and paying off a layaway is also a fantastic way to build credit.

These online stores all offer layaway programs on everything from Electronics (think XBox) to bath sets and there are even layaway yprograms for travel. How long do layaway plans run? Most programs in the stores with layway run on a two to three month payment schedule, unless you are doing the travel program. Those run as long as you need to plan the trip. Finding stores with a layway plan is a great way to excercise budgeting in the new year, without sacricing a thing.

Happy Layaway-ing.
