    1. Can I make extra payments to get my layaway sooner?

      You cannot make “extra” payments; you can however make your payments sooner to payoff a layaway before the scheduled date. To do this, you would simply adjust your payment schedule so that the remaining payments are made earlier. You can change the dates to transact all in one month, week or a given day. Please note that the payment increment cannot be changed. For example, if you start with 10 payments of $50, the $50 installment will remain your payment increment for the entire life of the layaway.       1. How do I find my verification code?

        In order to verify your bank account, you must have at least one payment process successfully. Once this payment has been debited from your bank account, check your bank statement for the payment made to eLayaway. Your verification code will be in the comments of this payment. This code will either being with “C=” or “Code=” and will consist of 5 letters and/or numbers. If you cannot locate the code, you can always call your bank and ask them to read the “comments” section for eLayaway charge.

        1. How do I verify my bank account?

          Once you have your code, log in to your eLayaway Account and select the tab labeled “Payments”. Click on the “Verify Account” button to bring up your verification box. Enter your code and click the “Verify” button. If the code is correct, notification will be given on screen. Click here for more detailed instructions.

          1. How do I adjust my payment schedule?

            Before any adjustments to your payment schedule can be made, your bank account must be verified. Please refer to “How do I verify my bank account?” instructions on this procedure. Once a bank account is verified, you can log into your eLayaway Account and select the “Layaways” tab. Select the layaway that you are trying to adjust, and click “Edit”. Then, use the calendar tool to modify your existing payment schedule. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click the “Done” button.                 Unfortunately, once you have placed an item on layaway it cannot be changed. You can always set up a new layaway for the item that you do intend to purchase and we will cancel your old layaway without assessing any cancellation fees. Please contact us once you have started the new layaway, so that we may cancel the old layaway purchase for you.

                        1. How do I obtain a lost user name or password?

                          Your user name is the e-mail address you used to sign up with eLayaway. You can retrieve your password by clicking on the "Forgot Password“ link under the login box on the eLayaway homepage.

                        2. Is there a limit to how many purchases I can make?

                          No, but eLayaway encourages our members to be responsible while using the eLayaway system.

                        3. Can I access my payment and purchase information?

                          You can view and manage all of your account information online 24-7. Simply login at eLayaway.com using the e-mail address and password you created during registration.

                        4. How do I change my personal information?

                          You can change your personal information online. Simply, login to your account at eLayaway.com using your e-mail address and password you created during registration, then click on "Settings" and then "Edit Account Info".

                        5. Do I need to be registered as a member of eLayaway to shop with one of your merchants?

                          You do not need an account to browse, but you need to be an eLayaway member before you can make a purchase. Click here to register now.

                        6. Do I have to remember to make my eLayaway payments?

                          It depends on your chosen funding method. If you selected ACH as your payment method, your payments are automatically deducted from your bank account on the payment schedule you set. If you selected cash payments through MoneyGram®, then payments can be taken directly to an authorized MoneyGram® location.

                        7. What happens if my bank account does not have sufficient funds to make the payment?

                          The reason for this policy is to keep eLayaway a safe and secure service for it‘s members. By verifying the five digit code that appears on your bank statement, you are verifying that you are the true owner of the bank account that is registered with eLayaway. Bank account verification is only required once for the lifetime of the bank account listed on file. This process ensures that eLayaway‘s members are protected from fraudulent purchases.

                        20. How do I verify my bank account?

                          In order to verify your bank account, you must have at least one payment process successfully.                         21. What happens if my layaway completes and I have not verified my bank account?

                          We require all users to verify their bank account prior to any purchase being shipped out. If the Merchant you ordered from has set a payment deadline, the bank account on file must be verified by the specified payment deadline date. If the Merchant has NOT set a payment deadline, the bank account must be verified by the final payment date or the purchase will be suspended for up to 30 days. Once this 30 day window has passed, the layaway will be canceled and all applicable cancellation fees will be assessed.

                        22. Does eLayaway hold my item for me while I make payments?

                          No, eLayaway does not hold or purchase any items until you have made all payments successfully through us. Should the item you laid away be unavailable at the time of completion, a full refund would be issued for the amount you paid.

                        23. What happens if my item is no longer manufactured or obsolete at the time of completion?

                          If the item you selected to layaway is no longer available, or if the item is obsolete, we will give you the option to receive a full refund or choose a similar product of comparable value.

                          ACH (Automated Clearing House) technology is an electronic system used to facilitate the transfer of funds between banking institutions. eLayaway utilizes ACH to automatically debit layaway payments directly from your bank account.

                        27. What is MoneyGram?

                          MoneyGram is a convenient payment method that you can use to submit your layaway payments in cash. Simply visit one of the 35,000 national MoneyGram locations nearest you with your account number and receive code to make your cash payment. You will receive proof of payment at the end of your transaction. Payments will be processed in one business day.

                        28. Do I have to obtain credit approval to use eLayaway?

                          No. eLayaway does not accept credit payments, so a credit check is unnecessary.

                        29. Do I need a bank account to use eLayaway?

                          No. If you do not have a bank account that you want to use, payments can be made to eLayaway using MoneyGram® ExpressPayment® Services.

                        30. Can I use a prepaid debit card to make payments?

                          Yes. You can use your prepaid debit card to make payments to eLayaway using ACH Debits. All that is needed to use your prepaid debit card is an account and routing number.

                        31. How do I obtain the bank account & routing number from my prepaid debit card?

                          Please contact the provider of the prepaid bank card and ask for the corresponding account & routing number.

                        32. What is the most expensive item that can be bought using eLayaway?

                          The pricing and products offered are all determined by our participating merchants. The eLayaway system alone does not have a price limit.

                        33. How do I make a purchase?

                          Shop our Merchant Directory and the PlanItPay Marketplace to find the products you want most. Click the “eLayaway Now” button next to the product of your choice, select your payment schedule, and click “confirm” to start your layaway.

                        34. What merchants offer eLayaway?

                          View our complete listing of participating merchants in our Merchant Directory. eLayaway is actively working with the largest merchants in the country to expand its growing merchant network.

                        35. How much does it cost to use eLayaway?

                          eLayaway only charges a one time transaction fee as low as 1.9% on the layaway total with a minimum fee of $5.00.

                        36. Is my money secure with eLayaway?

                          We understand how important it is for your money to be secure. All collected customer layaway funds are held in a holding account. This holding account is separate from our operating account, meaning that your money is always safe while in our possession.

                        37. What is the maximum number of payments I can make?

                          Participating eLayaway merchants can set their own guidelines regarding the length of payments. So within those guidelines you can set your payments however long you might want them.

                        38. What fees are associated with eLayaway?

                          The only fee associated with an eLayaway purchase is a transaction fee as low as 1.9%, with a minimum fee of $5.00. There may also be cancellation fees that are explained in our Cancellation Policies section.

                        40. What is the difference between eLayaway and a credit account?

                          A credit account requires qualification by the means of a credit check. Credit accounts also have limits and interest charges. eLayaway does not require a credit check, has no limit, and absolutely no interest.

                        41. Can I use a credit card to pay for my eLayaway purchase?

                          Fortunately no! Payments can be made directly to eLayaway using a bank account, prepaid debit card or cash. eLayaway processes payments from your bank account and prepaid debit card through a process called ACH. ACH is a secure method of electronically transferring funds from your bank‘s account. It is as simple as paying with a check. Cash payments can be made using MoneyGram® ExpressPayment® Services.

                        42. Do I have to pay a security deposit to use eLayaway?

                          eLayaway does not require a security deposit. However, some merchants you shop with may require a deposit to guarantee your purchase. This may include one of a kind items and travel related purchases. If a deposit is necessary, it will be displayed to you at checkout, within future email communication and in your eLayaway member account.

                        43. Is eLayaway responsible for the product quality and timely shipping?

                          Product quality and timely shipping is dependent upon the merchant, not eLayaway.

                        44. Can I change my payment information after I have initiated my purchase using eLayaway?

                          Yes. However, all payment information changes must be made at least two business days prior to a scheduled payment date. Please useContact Us if you need to make any payment information changes within two business days of a scheduled payment.

                        45. What currencies does eLayaway accept?

                          At this time we only accept US dollars.

                        46. When shopping in the PlanItPay Marketplace, can I shop directly at the store or can I only purchase the items on your site?

                          If you are shopping in the PlanItPay Marketplace and wish to use layaway as a payment option, you must make the purchase through the PlanItPay Marketplace. Please note: You can always submit a product request for an item found on an affiliates website to get it into the PlanItPay Marketplace. You can submit a product request by clicking here.

                        47. If I am making a purchase through the PlanItPay Marketplace, and the item is on sale, will I get that same price if it is not on sale at the end of the layaway?

                          Items are purchased only after all payments have been made. You will pay the current day price of the item at the time of completion. If the item price has gone down since you set the layaway up, you will receive a refund for the price difference. If the item price has increased since the time you set the layaway up, you will be allowed to either pay the difference needed, or receive a full refund.

                        48. How do I make a purchase through a registered eLayaway Merchant?

                          To make a purchase with a registered eLayaway Merchant, you would follow the merchants normal checkout procedure and select “eLayaway” as your payment option.

                          If your purchase was made using a registered eLayaway Merchant, you would contact the merchant to receive tracking information.


                          If your purchase was made in the PlanItPay Marketplace, tracking will be provided to you automatically via email, if it has been provided to us by the affiliate.

                        51. Do you offer a product warranty on the item I am purchasing?

                          Warranty and item guarantees follow that of the merchant or affiliate you are purchasing from. eLayaway does not physically handle or manufacture any merchandise.


                        52. What is the return policy?

                          Return policies are based on the terms set by the merchant or affiliate you are purchasing from. For instance, if the merchant has a 30 day return window from the date of purchase, you must return your item within that window.


                        53. How do I return an item purchased from the PlanItPay Marketplace?

                          If you wish to return an item purchased through the PlanItPay Marketplace, you must contact eLayaway Customer Support at Contact Us. eLayaway will then contact the affiliate to arrange the appropriate return method. Return policies are based on the terms set by the affiliate.


                        54. How do I return an item purchased from a registered eLayaway Merchant?

                          If you wish to return an item purchased through the eLayaway Merchant, you must contact the Merchant that you purchased from to arrange a return of merchandise. Return policies are based on the terms set by the merchant.

                        55. When does my return or warranty timeframe start?

                          Return and warranty timeframes start from the date your item was ordered, not when the layaway was started.

                        56. Is there a fee to adjust my payments?

                          No, there are no fees to adjust any of your eLayaway payments.

                        57. Do I need a separate account to use eLayawaySPORTS?

                          Only one membership account is needed to use any eLayaway service.

                        60. What is MoneyGram?

                          MoneyGram is a convenient payment method that you can use to submit your layaway payments in cash. Simply visit one of the 35,000 national MoneyGram locations nearest you with your account number and receive code to make your cash payment. You will receive proof of payment at the end of your transaction. Payments will be processed in one business day.

                        61. How do I set up MoneyGram?

                          Once you are logged in to your eLayaway Account click the “Payments” tab. Select the “Add this Payment Method” button next to the section that reads MoneyGram. Click “Enable” to designate MoneyGram as a payment method. MoneyGram can be enabled through the above mentioned method or during the checkout process.

                        62. Can I use MoneyGram and ACH interchangeably?

                          Yes. You can use either MoneyGram or ACH when submitting your payments. To change which payment method you would like to use, log in to your eLayaway account and click the “Layaways” tab. Select the layaway that you wish to to adjust and click “Edit”. Use the drop-down tool under “Payment Method” to change your payment type. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click “Done”. Please note: You cannot adjust your payment method within two business days of its scheduled date. You must have MoneyGram enabled as a payment method before it becomes available as a funding method in the “Edit Layaways” section of your account.

                        63. Is there a fee for using MoneyGram?

                          MoneyGram charges a fee of $2.99 for each payment. eLayaway does not charge any extra to use MoneyGram as your payment method.

                        64. When will my first MoneyGram payment be due?

                          Your first MoneyGram layaway payment will begin processing within 24 hours of the day that you confirm your layaway. Once your payment begins processing you will be sent an email that will contain your unique account number and receive code. This information is necessary to make your MoneyGram payment. You will have seven days from this date to submit your first MoneyGram payment. Failing to make your first payment during the seven day payment window will result in cancellation of your layaway.

                        65. What happens if I miss a MoneyGram payment?

                          You will have a seven day payment window, starting the day that your payment is due, to submit your MoneyGram payment. Failing to make your first payment during the seven day payment window will result in cancellation of your layaway. Failed payments made any other time during your layaway will be re-scheduled based on your original payment frequency. If you fail to make two consecutive payments, your layaway will be canceled. All applicable cancellation fees will be assessed and your eLayaway transaction fee will not be refunded.

                        66. Can I pay my layaway off sooner with MoneyGram?

                          Payments can be made to eLayaway at any time, regardless of your original schedule. Log in to your eLayaway Account and select the “Layaways” tab. Once there, select the layaway that you are trying to adjust, and click “Edit”. Then, use the calendar tool to modify your existing payment schedule. Click the “Done” button to submit your changes. Once all payments have been made, your item will be ordered and then shipped. Please Note: Payments cannot be rescheduled within two business days of its previously scheduled date. Also, when adjusting your payments, you must wait for your payment email (containing your unique account number) before you can make your MoneyGram payment in a store.

                        67. If I have more than one layaway set up with MoneyGram can I submit one payment for all of the layaways?

                          When more than one payment is scheduled for the same date, your payments will be consolidated into one lump payment amount. You will receive a payment email that contains your total payment amount and your unique account number. This will allow you to submit only one payment for your layaways. When your layaway payments are not scheduled on the same day you will be required to submit individual payments for each layaway.

                        68. How long do I have to make my payment using MoneyGram?

                          MoneyGram payments have a 7 day payment window. Failing to submit payment for your first payment before the end of the 7 day payment window will result in the layaway being canceled. Future failed payments will be scheduled one iteration (one month or week depending on your original payment schedule) out after the final payment. Your layaway will be canceled if you fail to make two consecutive payments during the seven day payment window. All applicable cancellation and transaction fees will be assessed.

                        69. How do I get the account number I need to make my MoneyGram payment?

                          Once your have confirmed your layaway, you will receive an email with your account number and eLayaway’s receive code. This information is required for you to submit your MoneyGram payment. You will receive an email 24 hours before each of your remaining payments are due, with a new account number for each payment.

                        70. What is the receive code I need to use to make a MoneyGram payment?

                          eLayaway’s receive code is 7953. You are required to have this code when making your payment.

                        71. How long will it take for my MoneyGram payment to be applied to my layaway?

                          Payments made through MoneyGram take 1 business day to process. You will receive a confirmation email once eLayaway has applied your MoneyGram payment to your layaway.

                        72. If I made my payments with MoneyGram how will I receive a refund if I were to cancel my layaway?

                          Should you decide that you would like to cancel your layaway all cancellation fees will apply. There will be a $25 or 10% cancellation fee, whichever is less, and your eLayaway transaction fee will not be refunded. Members who have a bank account registered will have the refund credited to their account. If you do not have a bank account registered, we will mail a check to the address listed on file. Please allow 2-4 weeks for the check to arrive after cancelation.

                        73. What happens if I forget that I have a payment due?

                          An email will be sent to you reminding you of an upcoming payment 24 hours before it is due. The email will contain the unique account number for your payment and the total amount due. Payments need to be made within the 7 day payment window using the account number sent to you. Failing to make your first payment during the seven day payment window will result in your layaway being canceled. Failed payments made any other time during your layaway will be re-scheduled one iteration (one month or one week depending on your original payment schedule) out from the final payment. Your layaway will be canceled if you fail to make two consecutive payments during the seven day payment window. All applicable cancellation and transaction fees.

                        75. How can I be certain that eLayaway merchants are not fraudulent?

                          We take all steps necessary to protect our consumers from fraudulent behavior. Our merchants will have to pass an application process and identity verification process. From there, they will enter into a legal contract with us. We have put procedures in place to make sure only legitimate retail stores are offering eLayaway.

                        76. Is eLayaway Secure?

                          Yes. eLayaway.com and the payment module that exists on our merchant web sites are secured by a 256-bit SSL Certificate. This certificate establishes an encrypted link between our secure server and your web browser. This ensures that all information passed to eLayaway remains private.

                        77. How safe is your payment system compared to others that are available?

                          We offer the highest level of security features you can find with any payment process provider. Also, the process of paying multiple payments before products are shipped is a deterrent for someone looking to commit identity fraud.

                        78. Your system holds customer sensitive information. What measures are taken to ensure that is safe from hackers?

                          Our system is monitored and scanned once a week by Control Scan's Verified Secure Vulnerability Scanning Service to ensure that our system is secure.
