eCommerce Integration

Process Overview:

eCommerce integration allows your customers to choose eLayaway as their payment method for their entire cart during checkout. By integrating eLayaway into your shopping cart, consumers can shop your website and place products in your cart. When they are ready to pay, they will be able to use eLayaway to pay for the entire cart.

ECI Requirements

  1. Intermediate understanding of HTML and/or JavaScript HTML and ability to create an HTML POST form.
  2. Ability to edit and add code into your shopping cart platform.
  3. Depending on the type and/or complexity of your eCommerce System, additional development may be required on the merchants behalf to allow your cart to POST order data to eLayaway.
  4. Register with eLayaway and obtain a merchant ID. Click here if you need a MID. Note: Your Merchant ID is located on the homepage in your merchant account.
  5. Not all merchants will have the ability to add or edit the code within their shopping cart. If you are using a boxed shopping cart or eCommerce system please check out the eLayaway Ready page to see systems that are pre-integrated with our payment option.

Technical Overview

In order to allow your shopping cart to communicate with the eLayaway servers, eCommerce Integration uses hidden form fields which contain data regarding both your merchant information and the current product information. The fields concerning the products being purchased must be dynamically created along with your cart. This will require additional programming on your site in whichever language your e-commerce solution uses (PHP, Ruby, etc).

When your customer selects the eLayaway payment option, our calculator is activated through the JavaScript included at the top of your page. The length and payment frequency of the layaway are determined by the calculator and modified within your form. Once the user is satisfied with their payment plan and selects "eLayaway Now!", the calculator will submit all relevant data in the form to our secure checkout process.

Pairing an eCommerce integration with eLayaway's Merchant Server Integration gives the merchant an unparalleled amount of information management.
